Artists go big at Bradenton festival

The upcoming Bradenton Art & Music Festival will be an interactive event for all ages.

Presented by Realize Bradenton, the festival, known as BAM, will provide a hands-on art experience. Groups that coordinate similar festivals often use banner printing as part of their advertising.

Realize Bradenton started in 2010 as a non-profit group dedicated to bringing people together to share heritage, arts and culture. It works closely with the community to present local events and boost economic development. The organization is known for its work in supporting the development of Riverwalk Park, helping to expand the Bradenton Farmers’ Market and creating a local blues festival.

The free arts and music event will include artist demonstrations of large-scale pieces of art. Visitors can add their own creativity to a community mural called the Banner Tower, which will serve as a huge blank canvas for local artists.

Members of the public can also get creative by putting their hands in the sand to help design and build an extravagant sand sculpture. In addition, a festival amphitheater will showcase a variety of short performances while bands featuring many genres of music will perform in the nearby pavilion.

Street performers, food vendors. and an artists' market round out the BAM festival activities.

The Bradenton Arts and Music festival will be held April 5 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm along the city’s Riverwalk.
