The firm, which went by the name Roof Diagnostics Solar previously, is one of the country’s leading residential solar companies. Moreover, in the majority of states in which it operates, the company claims the largest market share in the solar installation community.
NRG leases solar panels to homeowners and businesses. In addition to lower energy costs and benefits to the environment, NRG clients are able to reduce their carbon footprint as well, the company claims.
Kelcy Pegler Jr. of NRG said in a news release from the company:
“Connecticut is a rapidly increasing market for solar technology where we anticipate fast growth and continued expansion to help homeowners bring their homes into the future with cleaner and cheaper energy.”
The company’s new Middletown office is expected to fill 75 new positions in its first years. These will be at a variety of levels within the company and will, according to Pegler Jr., be instrumental to the company’s growth in the new market.
