In July, Oddfellows Playhouse and the Middletown Office of the Arts will host the 33rd annual Children’s Circus of Middletown, a summer day camp for children to learn dance, art, and circus skills.
Oddfellows Playhouse is a performing arts theater dedicated to providing high-quality theater programs for and by young people. One such program is the Children’s Circus of Middletown, which is a five-week day camp for children ages 5 to 15. Both those children who live in Middletown and out-of-town young people are welcome to attend.
Running Monday to Friday, the day camp will provide students with a safe, fun, and inclusive space to grow through learning new skills. The children will learn circus acrobatics, such as juggling, stilting, unicycling, and clowning. Most of the activities will take place outdoors, and a free lunch will be provided.
The circus camp is scheduled to run from July 6 to August 6 at two locations – Bielefield School and Macdonough School. Early registration is recommended as space is limited and will be capped at 60 students for each location. Tickets are $300 for Middletown residents and $600 for out-of-town participants. Information on tuition waivers can be found on the Oddfellows Playhouse’s website.
