Draft horses often work hard throughout their lives, but a Middletown fundraiser will help to make sure they get to enjoy their retirement in peace and comfort.
Portland Golf Course will be the venue for a fundraiser that helps draft horses no longer able to pull their heavy loads. It is named in honor of “Duke” who was a horse that had a career as one of the Budweiser Clydesdales and became a local celebrity after he was rescued from an auction.
The event will begin with a lunch featuring a selection of grilled dishes, and there will also be raffles and an auction. The shotgun start will be at 1:00 pm, and once everyone has played trough, there will be a buffet dinner. Monies raised will benefit Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue, which has been able to save the lives of more than 100 horses.
Those who attend this sort of event often want to learn about how their contributions will make a difference, and a poster printing company will be able to help. These informative illustrations can be part of the decor prepared for the occasion.
This chance to help some horses in need, and have a great time doing it, will be on offer on September 19. Portland Golf Course will be the venue for fundraiser.
