Middletown female vocal group to perform in Providence

The members of the Women’s High School Vocal Ensemble from Middletown recently performed at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence along with Billy Graham, a pop and country music star, and are scheduled to perform at the Trinity Repertory Theater later this month.

The choral director of Middletown High School, Jennifer Vaillancourt, commented that this will be the first the group has performed at the Trinity Rep, which changes the focus of the performance every year. This year, the theater asked for local choirs to be part of the performance. Vaillancourt said that the Trinity Rep will require a great deal of theater and precision work on the part of the girls and performing on cue.

Vaillancourt added that the girls meet three or four times a week to rehearse. Although there is more pressure for the upcoming performance than their typical performances, the girls expressed little concern about it, as they are all friends outside of the chorus, have a personal connection, and rely on each other for support.

The Women’s Vocal Ensemble will also be part of the performance of “A Christmas Carol” at Trinity Repertory Company in Providence tomorrow, December 13.

Groups such as this one often turn to flyer printing companies to distribute throughout school and the community so that residents become aware of such opportunities.
