Middletown class to utilize plants for art

Middletown’s Russell Library and Everyone Outside will host the Painting with Plants event in July, bringing back the activity by popular demand.

Everyone Outside is an environmental nonprofit in central Connecticut that provides opportunities for people of all ages and lifestyles to learn about and enjoy the natural world. The organization’s mission is to help build a healthy community by providing ways for people to cultivate a deeper connection with nature and inspire them to become caretakers of the earth. The Russell Library Staff and volunteers of Everyone Outside have teamed up to bring back the Painting with Plants class, an outdoor art project.

The class will teach attendees how to forage for plants to make their own brushes and paints out of. Expert guides will show participants how to identify common plants in their area that can be used for these purposes. Attendees will then use these plants to create their own painting masterpieces.

Art events may be advertised via many printed mediums, but some of the more popular options include Posters, which is why organizers may visit local businesses specializing in poster printing.

The free art event is scheduled for July 13 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Attendees will meet by the Tennis Pavilion at the Wadsworth Mansion, located on 421 Wadsworth Street.
