Bird fans from Middletown and the surrounding area recently made their way to an event that brought feathered friends to the forefront.
Featherfest gave current bird owners, and those who might be considering getting a parrot or smaller bird, an opportunity to come together to learn more about these animals and the sometimes complex care that they require. A variety of vendors were on hand, and had displays set up that showcased everything from the latest in food and treats, to toys, cages, and even clothing for birds.
Along with the displays, there were informational presentations that gave more information about caring for pet birds and also the wild species that live in the state, including owls, hawks, and eagles. A booklet printing company can produce informational materials explaining the complex care requirements for parrots. These can be given to those who attend events such as this.
Money raised during the function was used to help support the Connecticut Parrot Society and its efforts to rehome birds that have been left behind when their owners pass away or otherwise can no longer care for them. It also acts as an information source for those who may be considering bringing one into their family so they know what to expect and how to provide them with the best care.
More information can be found on the Connecticut Parrot Society’s website.
