Lyman Orchards in Middlefield near Middletown will host the Blueberry Festival this year with the theme of "Service, Safety, and Salute" to honor the fire department and teach fire safety.
The Lyman Orchards Blueberry Festival happens every year, but this year the festival organizers will be working in collaboration with the Middlefield Fire Department to teach fire education basics and honor these firefighters for their service to the community. The festival will offer a chance for residents to have a meet-and greet with these fire professionals and learn about their duties and responsibilities in keeping the public safe.
Attendees can enjoy a variety of activities at the festival, including picking their own blueberries from Lyman Orchards. There will also be live music, yard games, food trucks, the Touch a Firetruck exhibit, an assembly station for hygiene and first aid, and even a pie-eating contest. The family-friendly Salvation Army mascot will also be present to entertain the crowds.
Festivals like this will often feature vibrant Banners to add to the ambiance of the event. Organizers can get these Banners customized and printed at local Print shops offering banner printing services.
The blueberry festival is scheduled for July 20, beginning at 10:00 am. Lyman Orchards is located at 32 Reeds Gap Road, Middlefield, just six miles from Middletown. There is no fee to attend.
