Next month, Lyman Orchards will host its Spring Apple Hunt in Middlefield for families in Middletown and the surrounding areas to celebrate the coming of spring.
Lyman Orchards is a family orchard with over 100 varieties of fruit. Established over 275 years ago, the orchard farm includes a retail store, corn maze, and public golf course. It frequently hosts seasonal events, such as May’s Spring Apple Hunt.
The apple hunt will allow children to search through thousands of eco-certified apples in a creatively designed hay maze. Specifically for children ages 1 to 10, the hunt will be divided up into age categories so that each group hunts at a different time. Only one adult per child will be allowed to hunt with the children in the 1 to 3 age group, and the 4 to 6 age group.
Families will also enjoy the Circle K Petting Zoo, horse-drawn wagon rides, and a free magical show. Refreshment options include coffee, donuts and breakfast sandwiches, plus a full lunch menu is available from the orchard’s deli grill.

The apple hunt is scheduled for May 14 beginning at 9:00 am. It will take place at the Apple Barrel at Lyman Orchards on 32 Reeds Gap Road, Middlefield. Tickets are $15.
