Lyman Orchards will host the Apple Pie Workshop for Middletown children and their families next month.
Established over 275 years ago, family-owned Lyman Orchards has been an integral part of Middletown and has served as a premier family destination. The orchard grows 100 types of fruit and sells various baked goods. It also features various corn mazes, a public golfing area, and space to hold events.
The Apple Pie Workshop is specifically designed to get children excited about baking. The class will take place at The Apple Barrel, where the orchard pies are painstakingly handmade each day. Children will have the opportunity to bake a six-inch Hi-Top Apple Pie under the supervision of the bakery chef. They will work with high-quality spices, fresh Lyman Orchards apples, and fresh-pressed pie dough. The pie will be assembled in the workshop to be taken home to bake.
How-to workshops like this often involve instructional materials given out to attendees, which local Print shops specializing in brochure printing and similar services could help with.
The Apple Pie Workshop is scheduled for February 21, with two available sessions from 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Each session is 30 minutes long. Tickets are $15 by registration, and only the child participants need to register. The Apple Barrel is located at 32 Reeds Gap Road.
