A local association will be holding an anniversary celebration in April at the West Indian American Center in Hartford.
West Indian Social Club 72nd Anniversary Gala & Awards Dinner is an event where guests can interact with local and federal politicians while meeting with entrepreneurs and artists. During the celebration, attendees will dine on authentic Caribbean cuisine and enjoy a complimentary reception. The gala will be held in The People's Ballroom at the center. Attendees can wear summer looks while at the party and awards dinner.
The West Indian Social Club of Hartford is an organization that started in the 1940s as a club where people engaged in their homeland traditions while in the United States, such as playing games like cricket and dominoes. The group also organizes programs such as Caribbean Soccer Night, Snowflakes and Shadow, and the Miss West Indian Scholarship Pageant. Clubs similar to this can generate more hype for their activities by using flyer printing to make distributable ads.
The gala and dinner will begin on Saturday, April 23 at 6:00 pm. General admission to the celebration can be bought for $85. People may also purchase VIP tickets for $100, which includes access to a designated seating section and an open wine bar. Those with VIP admission will also get to try special menu items.
