Classic Shakespearean tragedy takes Hartford stage

A unique rendition of Romeo and Juliet is getting ready to take the stage in Hartford next month, combining performances from an orchestra, talented actors and actresses, and an acclaimed director.

Romeo and Juliet: A Theatrical Concert, which is being organized by the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, will bring the classic love story to life soon, allowing fans of Shakespeare and the arts to gather and take in the performance. It will feature a collaboration between the musicians of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Concert Theatre Works, and director Bill Barclay.

Attendees can expect to witness the story unfold in a way they have never experienced before. The production has been co-commissioned by the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Albert Hall. It will use live actors and actresses in costume, real sword fighting, and dynamic staging. Brochure printing is an efficient way for promoters and organizers to provide information about this type of performance.

It is a break from traditional stage performances, blending the magic of the performing arts with music. Barclay, the director, hopes that the show will help younger audience members connect with classical music in a new way.

The host site will be 166 Capitol Avenue in Hartford, and the performance will premiere on Friday, February 13 at 8:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased online for $10 per person.
