Local restaurants and food trucks are bringing their offerings to an open-air market in Hartford.
The Know Good Market, which is located on Bartholomew Avenue, opened yesterday for its first full year of operation. The market is in Hartford's Parkville area, and operated for a short time during September and October 2015 as a test program.
The market will open the second Thursday of each month from now through October. In addition to food, live music acts are expected to take part in the effort.
Among the food trucks and restaurants featured this month were Caral Lounge, N2 Coffee, Hog River Brewing Company, Hartford Flavor company, NoRa Cupcake, Whey Station, New Haven Pizza Truck, and Samba Kitchen. Knox, Inc., a Hartford-based company and an event partner, will provide fresh produce during the summer months.
The market event is designed to strengthen ties within the community, according to Jeffrey Devereux, the organizer. Devereux is a partner in the Breakfast Lunch & Dinner organization, which specializes in organizing this type of event.
The market is in an L-shaped space where The Hartford Restaurant Group, Hartford Denim Company, and Caral Restaurant are located, and runs from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Devereux and other organizers may work with a banner printing company to create festive flags to hang throughout the venue, adding to the fun.
