Hartford to organize boating competition

Riverfront Recapture will hold a boating festival in August at the Mortensen Riverfront Plaza in Hartford.

The Riverfront Dragon Boat & Asian Festival is an experience that celebrates Asian and Pacific Island cultures with a boat race and family-friendly activities. Attendees can participate in martial arts sessions, see traditional performances, and complete hands-on projects during the event. Those who intend on racing at the fest can join a Community Team or Club Team. Each registered team will get its own tent at the on-site Athlete Village, and all participants will receive color-coded wristbands.

Riverfront Recapture is a non-profit group that maintains the parks located along a portion of the Connecticut River. Many activities are held by the organization, like the Hartbeat Music Festival and the Riverfront Food Truck Festival. Companies interested in sponsoring the group’s event can pay $25,000 to become the Presenting Sponsor or $10,000 to be a Gold Sponsor. There is also a package available for $5,000. Those who support the boat fest will get benefits like social media recognition.

The festival will be on August 19 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. People who want to be team captains at the fest must register for the event by July 21. Spectators can enjoy the races and festival activities free of charge. Non-profits that hold cultural experiences like this can increase the attention their events receive by using banner printing services.
