Hartford tavern to hold festival during convention

The Arch Street Tavern and Apple Cinema in Hartford will be organizing a festival sponsored by a local convention in July.

Convivial Fest is a companion event to the ConnectiCon convention where fans of video games can interact and compete in different challenges. Apple Cinema will host a two-day Super Smash Bros. tournament and have multiple silent disco karaoke sessions. There will also be two tribute performances for the game Five Nights at Freddy’s and a laser light fog show held at the Arch Street Tavern. Bars that organize themed events like this may use banner printing to advertise their parties in advance.

ConnectiCon is one of the state’s longest-running pop-culture conventions, and is located in downtown Hartford. Several activities are available for attendees, including tabletop games, cosplay photo shoot opportunities, and workshops. This year, the convention will have celebrity guests such as Jason Douglas, Jill Harris, and J. Michael Tatum. Eventgoers can also see authors like Rick Heinz, Gama Martinez, and Jody Lynn Nye.

Convivial Fest will be held from Thursday, July 14 to Saturday, July 16, and each event will last from 7:00 pm to 2:00 am. Tickets for the festival start at $10 per person, though three-day VIP passes are available for $40. The price of admission will include an entry to the Super Smash Bros. tournament. Only those who are 18 and older can enter the Arch Street Tavern.
