Harry Potter on the way to Hartford

A concert is on its way to Hartford. The film that will be the centerpiece of the event is ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’, which was scored by John Williams.

The wildly popular Harry Potter Books have led to the development of additional ways to experience the Wizarding World, including the Harry Potter Film Concert Series. At these concerts, orchestras play the score of one of the films live, while the movie runs on a big screen behind them.

The film concerts began in 2016, when ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ was presented in this format. By the end of 2018, concerts in conjunction with the films will have been performed hundreds of times in over 35 countries.

Williams was nominated for a Grammy for his film score, which is only one of dozens of times he has won accolades for his work. He is perhaps best known for his ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Indiana Jones’ film scores, and has won five Oscars. He is also won 23 Grammys, three Emmys, and four Golden Globes.

There are three concerts of ‘Chamber of Secrets’ on the schedule: April 13, 2018, at 7:00 pm; April 14 at 1:00 pm; and April 15 at 1:00 pm. The venue is Hartford's Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, and tickets are on sale now.

Since venues like this are often decorated for events, they provide a great background for patrons who want to create their own Holiday Cards.
