A world-famous artist and writer will be making an appearance in Hartford soon.
Neil Gaiman is the celebrated author of novels, graphic novels, films, short stories, and much more. Among the most famous of his works is his series of comic Books about “The Sandman,” and his novels “The Graveyard Book,” “Coraline,” and “American Gods.” As well as being a winner of the Bram Stoker, Nebula, and Hugo awards, and “The Graveyard Book,“ which he published in 2008, won both the Carnegie and Newbery medals, becoming the first author to do so.
Gaiman boasts extensive work in film and television. Among many projects, in 1996, he wrote the dark fantasy series “Neverwhere” for BBC-TV, and co-wrote the script for “Beowulf,” a computer-animated film that Robert Zemeckis directed. A version of his novel “Coraline,” made using stop-motion animation, was released in 2009, with Teri Hatcher and Dakota Fanning providing voice talent.
