Bar5 now open in Hartford

Spectra Wired Café, located on Constitutions Plaza in downtown Hartford, recently opened a new outdoor space, Bar5, and kicked things off with a party in late June.

Julie Demario, the general manager of the café, said an outdoor space in downtown Hartford was something new, and she was hoping Bar5 would make an impact on the community.

Spectra Wired itself is part lounge, part coffee shop, and gets its name from the strength of its coffee, plus the fact it offers free Wi-Fi. The walls provide a backdrop for the works of local artists, while patrons can order paninis, bagels, smoothies, tea, coffee, and more.

Demario suggests people who work in the local area could take advantage of the shop by stopping for morning coffee, grabbing a sandwich for lunch, then unwinding in the new outdoor space with a local craft beer. Bar5 is serving beers from local producers like Hanging Hills and Boondoggle.

The new patio space provides a relaxed atmosphere suited to happy hour, which runs Tuesdays through Fridays, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The café also plans special events: each month the second Tuesday is “Bring Your Own Board Game Night”; and every fourth Wednesday, jazz comes to Spectra Wired.

This month, Board Game Night is Tuesday, July 10, and Steve Clarke will be on hand July 25 to play jazz and R&B. Organizers of events like this often use Promotional Products to help in brand building.
