Art event offers immersive experience in Hartford

A sensory art event will visit the Hartford area next month, providing aspiring artists and creatives a setting to learn new skills and hone existing ones.

The Zentangle Art Retreat is around the corner. It offers a peaceful setting for creative learning and an introduction to mixed media. Guests will enjoy the opportunity to learn from experienced artists like Cheryl Cianci, Jill Dailey, and Laura Marks while participating in a media journal project titled “Twine and Vine.”

The art retreat will begin with the Traditional Warm Up Tile, led by Cheryl Cianci. Guests will learn how to create impressive works using black and white tiles with help from step-by-step instruction. It will be followed by the Twine and Vine Journal Prep session, where participants will learn to decorate the journal’s cover. Printing services are invaluable for art retreats and learning sessions like this.

Lunch will be provided with the cost of admission, with vegan and vegetarian options available. Attendees will also learn the basics of making collages before enjoying a raffle and wrap-up experience at the event’s conclusion. All art supplies will be included in the ticket price.

The Universalist Church of West Hartford will host the retreat on Saturday, September 28. The session will start at 9:00 AM and conclude at 4:00 PM. Retreat tickets cost $135 per attendee and can be purchased online.
