The Connecticut Spring Antiques Show, referred to as “an American treasure trove,” is coming to Hartford for the 45th year, according to a Greenwich Time article.
The show is known and liked because of its emphasis on decorative arts and furniture from the early American period. However, in order to broaden its appeal, it continually adds new items. These include garden objects, primitives, and folk art, all of which organizers hope will bring in a wider audience.
Over 55 of the most knowledgeable and respected art and antiques dealers from across the nation and in New England will be in attendance. In addition to the antiques themselves, there will be educational programs and talks during the weekend by experts such as dealer Arthur Liverant and Lorraine German from Mad River Antiques.
Money raised at the show goes to support the Haddam Historical Society and the Thankful Arnold House Museum.
The antiques show will be held at the Hartford Armory on Broad Street on the weekend of March 24 and 25. Admission to the show is $15, and parking is free. On March 25, admission is free to those 35 years of age and under.
Events such as this offer a large number of activities, so organizers could work with a flyer printing company to create a handout for attendees, listing the talks as well as where items are located.
