An event coming up near Arvada will see steaming bowls of chili heating up the autumn air in support of local kids.
The Golden Chamber of Commerce will once again be hosting its ‘Knock Your Boots Off’ beer tasting and chili cookoff, and the public is welcome to come out and sample some of the spicy entries. This will be the event’s 10th year, and those who come out will be also able to sample the more than 30 types of beers and ales that will be on tap.
The chili lovers in the crowd will be able to enjoy samples of green, white and red chili, and once they are finished, they can vote for their favorite entry. Prizes, as well as bragging rights, will be awarded to the competitor with the crowd’s favorite chili, beer and booth design.
A portion of the funds raised through the festivities will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and also the Golden Chamber of Commerce’s Scholarship Fund, which helps local high schools pay for their post-secondary education.
