For the 21st year, Arvada's main spring event, the Arvada Kite Festival will be coming to Arvada in mid-April.
Known as one of the northwest Denver metro area's largest family festivals, the event was capped at 10,000 attendees last year.
The Rocky Mountain Kite Association will be giving expert kite demonstrations with large-format kites and synchronized flying. Kids activities will include craft stations, play/bounce areas, a "Nerf Terf" zone (inflatable mini obstacle battlefield area featuring soft-dart blasters) and STEM kite/wind activities. The Denver Museum of Nature and Science will be bringing its Curiosity Cruiser, a museum pop-up experience.
Over 100 local small businesses, community organizations and local artisans will be vending spring-related items along with food goodies from food trucks and booths. Festival merchandise will also be available for purchase.
Majestic View Nature Center will host make-a-kite workshops on Friday, April 11th and Saturday April 12th.
Everyone is invited to bring their own kites, chairs and blankets and plan to stay all day.
T-Shirts designed by contest winner Vihaan Juvvalapalem will be available for purchase. Proceeds from the sales will go to Ralston House, a local Child Advocacy Center.
Local Print shops usually get to supply T-Shirts for events like this.
The Arvada Kite Festival will take place Sunday, April 12th from 11:00 to 4:00 pm at Stenger ports Complex, 58th Avenue and Quail Street.
