As part of Arvada's 4th of July celebration, many runners will be participating in the Donut Hole Mile.
Runners will receive doughnut holes as they begin each leg. Before the first quarter mile, runners will get one donut hole. Before the second they will receive two; before the third three and four before the last quarter of the mile. In total, each runner will eat five chocolate and five glazed doughnut holes.
After each participant finishes their doughnut holes, they must prove that they have finished by opening their mouths facing the official to get permission to continue to the next lap. No liquids will be allowed. Those who cannot keep their doughnut holes down, must add a penalty lap after completing the last quarter mile.
The course will be an out-and-back quarter-mile loop along Ralston Creek Trail. The names of the top female and male finishers and the top team finisher will be added to the Tap House Wall of Champions plaque.
Registration will be $7.36 and will end on the 4th of July at 10:00 am.
The Donut Hole Mile will take place at Colorado Tap House, 14982 W 69th Avenue, Saturday, July 4th beginning at 10:00 am.
