A project will soon see volunteers fan out across the greater Los Angeles area to take on the task of addressing homelessness, and Valley Village residents have been asked to take part.
The greater Los Angeles Homeless Count provides a way for the public to get involved in community advocacy in a meaningful way. It will take place across the county, and it's anticipated that there will be thousands rolling up their sleeves to join in.
The activity will run over a span of three days, and everyone who registers will be asked to visually count their neighbours who are unhoused. The counts will typically begin at 8:00 pm, and 150 deployment sites will be set up across the county. Each date will address a different area, and the data will be used to help determine funding allocations for grass roots level projects and other resources.
Organizing a hands on advocacy event provides a way for the public to get involved in the well-being of their community. Tally and recording sheets, promotional Pens, as well as pop up canopies for use in staging areas, are all available from area printers for such events.
The 2025 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count will be hitting the streets on January 21st, January 22nd and January 23rd. It is being facilitated by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, and anyone who would like to join in can find more details on its website.
