Valley Village residents set to tackle homelessness

Valley Village is one of the many communities within the Los Angeles area taking part in a homeless count in January. A number of residents have already registered, and many more are expected to join immediately following the holiday season.

This initiative is being sponsored by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), and the primary goal is to obtain a better idea of individuals who require assistance throughout the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area. Shelter, housing, and healthcare are some of the services that LAHSA has been providing since its inception in 2005.

Valley Village residents who wish to contribute to this cause can register at the official LASHA website, and there are no fewer than 17 deployment centers located nearby. Examples include Van Nuys, Studio City, and Lower North Hollywood.

Organizations associated with charitable ventures wish to reach as large of an audience as possible. This is why they tend to employ a host of marketing strategies. Some effective approaches include brochure printing, distributing Flyers in homeless shelters, and partnering with local chambers of commerce.

The 2026 Valley Village Homeless Walk is taking place on Tuesday, January 20th at 8 PM. Participants are asked to meet at Oakwood Secondary School located at 5223 Lemp Avenue in advance. Note that this is the same venue that is accepting registrations. There will be no charge to participate in the Homeless Walk.
