Studio City to host conference for media arts educators

The annual Media Educators Conference of the Television Academy Foundation will be held later this month at the Studio City campus of the Academy.

This conference brings educators of media arts at colleges and universities from across the country together to meet top professionals from Hollywood for an educational event lasting three days.

The conference will offer a wide range of seminars designed to enhance curricula presented by experts from the industry. Attendees can expect to learn about the latest news and insights on the science, art, and business of television, and gain invaluable information on how professors can connect the television industry with the classroom.

Such conferences are often advertised with Flyers distributed throughout colleges and universities and are created by local Print shops.

Cris Abrego, chair of the foundation, will present the opening remarks at the conference. Sessions at the conference will include a panel discussion by Jason Rothenberg, Krister Johnson, Shaz Bennett, all of whom are writers and producers; Diallo Riddle who is an actor, writer, and showrunner; and moderator by Jamila Hunter. There will be a conversation with Tony Vinciquerra, the CEO and chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment. Also on the schedule is a discussion by Dr. Rachel Raimist, a director and producer, of her experiences directing for television, with tips to for educators to share with their students on episodic direction.

The conference will be held from Thursday, October 27 through Saturday, October 29.
