Studio City holds art show over Mothers Day weekend

The Rotary Club of Studio City – Sherman Oaks will present its 49th annual art show over the Mother’s Day weekend. Over 1,500 people are expected to attend.

More than 120 hand-selected artists and crafters will display original work in painting, wood, graphics, mixed media, glass, printmaking, furniture, sculpture, metalwork, fiber, photography, digital, jewelry, and ceramics. Participants have been selected based on uniqueness and quality of their work as well as their presentation. This will be a juried show.

Gemologist, silversmith, and goldsmith Hester van Diggelen will show bracelets, pendants, earrings, rings, and necklaces from her Santa Barbara’s Contemporary Handmade Jewelry Designs collection.

Burbank Boy Scout Troup 210 will have a food booth on Saturday and Sunday from 8 am until 5 pm. This will be a fundraiser for summer camp and operational expenses. The venue also has a fenced in children’s playground for the little ones.

Poster printing is being done, with Posters being offered to the venue’s surrounding area and local businesses. A total of 1,500 e-mails and 4,500 Postcards are being mailed to previous show customers. The show is also advertised on Instagram, Facebook, and local online event Calendars. Sherman Oaks Chamber of Commerce members are also being notified.

The Studio City Art Show will be May 11 and 12 from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm at Moorpark Park, 12061 Moorpark Street. Admission will be free.
