Studio City Branch Library offers online events in July and August

Studio City Branch Library has gone online for the summer and many virtual events will be available in July and early August.

For two Fridays, July 3 and August 7 at 12:15 pm, the Current Events Nonfiction Book Club will air on video calling tool Zoom. Book suggestions will be listed for each month, but attendees are invited to choose their own reading if they wish.

On July 10 at 10:00 am, the website will feature Mindful Meditation. John Kneedler will be the facilitator as he teaches how to reduce anxiety and increase compassion, creativity, and focus.

The last Adult Book Club event for the summer will be online on Zoom for Wednesday, July 15 at 6:30 pm. The July book will be disclosed closer to the event.

Craft Night for Adults will be Monday, July 20 starting at 6:00 pm, again on Zoom. Simple crafts from items found around the house will be demonstrated. Viewers can opt to continue working on their current projects and just turn up for the comradery. Some enterprising parents may want to create a family Logo Design for their kids’ summer T-Shirts.

The last Mystery Book Club of the summer will begin Wednesday, July 29 at 6:30 pm. Gaston Leroux’s ‘The Mystery of the Yellow Room’ was the book discussed in May, ‘The Stranger Diaries’ by Elly Griffiths will be the June reading, and the July book will be announced at a later date.
