It will soon be time for the Year of the Pig, and an annual Lunar New Year event gets underway next weekend.
Studio City guests will be treated to a Chinese experience in the Po’s Village. There they can meet Kung Fu Panda’s Tigress and Po.
The kung fu training show, Dragon Warrior, will be one of the interactive cultural performances on the plaza. Po will be there to help the instructor, meet the kids, and demonstrate the movements.
Mr. Ping’s noodle Shop will offer an array of Asian dishes. Mr. Ping, who is Po’s father, will be on hand to meet, greet, and entertain the patrons while they wait for their orders.
Kids entering the Animation Studio Store will get to meet popular character Hello Kitty. The plaza will be teeming with other characters such as the Chinese clad Minions and Transformer’s Megatron that will be speaking Mandarin.
Everyone is invited to stop at the Wishing Trees and express their wishes for the New Year. Each wish can be printed on the pink tags and hung on the pink-blossomed trees.
Families that attend events such as this often like to get T-Shirts printed at nearby Print shops. Some like to include a family logo or graphic design.
The 2019 Year of the Pig Lunar New Year festival will be from Saturday, February 2 to Sunday, February 17 at Universal Studios, 100 Universal City Place, Universal City.
