The one-day Portrait Studio Lighting class is scheduled to take place close to Studio City next month.
The Los Angeles Center of Photography (LACP) is the organizer of this informative beginners’ workshop.
In order to be eligible to participate in the class, all students must already be familiar with how their cameras work. No previous knowledge of lighting techniques is necessary. Tuition fees are $295 to join and an additional $50 for equipment and a model. For Silver LACP members, the total registration fee is priced at $315. For Gold members, enrollment costs $286 per individual.
Students who may from outside of Los Angeles can book a room at the Culvert Hotel at 25% off for an overnight stay.
Instructor Kevin Scanlon will be leading the all-day Portrait Studio Lighting class. The workshop will start off with a demonstration and discussion on different light sources, and how to determine the ideal type of lighting for hair, eyes, and different skin tones. Students from Studio City will practice using grids, soft Boxes, beauty dishes, and light modifiers to take ideal photos of models. Printing services are often used by the hosts of similar in-person workshops to provide attendees with written summaries of class information and assignments.
The Portrait Studio Lighting workshop is set to be hosted at the Los Angeles Center of Photography on Saturday, May 22 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
