New morning news anchor announced in Studio City

Jamie Yuccas, a CBS News correspondent with the CBS Broadcast Center in Studio City, will be the anchor for a local morning news show on the streaming channel of CBS News in Los Angeles and on KCAL-TV this fall.

KCAL has local news programming from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Yuccas will anchor the portion of the show from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. She will still appear as a guest co-host on CBS Mornings and serve as a CBS News correspondent. Local Print shops can assist with informing viewers about such updates to programing with Flyers and other printed materials.

Yuccas began her career with CBS in 2011 as a morning anchor and reporter for the CBS station in Minnesota’s Minneapolis-St. Paul. She moved to New York City in 2015 and became a correspondent for CBS Newspath. She moved to Los Angeles two years later and became a CBS News correspondent.

President and co-head of CBS News and Stations, Wendy McMahon, said in a statement that this hybrid role is ideal for Yuccas given her strengths and experience as a storyteller and journalist, and it is important to the continuing unification of the organization covering local-to-global news.

McMahon expressed her excitement about someone like Yuccas playing such an important role in the launch of the new morning news show in Southern California and that it will be the best of both worlds both for CBS and Yuccas.
