Local Down syndrome community to benefit from charity walk

The 26th annual Down Syndrome Association of Los Angeles (DSALA) Buddy Walk is set to happen virtually this year.

The DSALA is 100% donor funded and each year it has a target to raise $250,000 to cater for vital services and core support for the local Down syndrome community. The Buddy Walk is one of its largest fundraising drives, as proceeds from the walk amount to 40% of the total funds needed for a year.

Of the funds raised, 7% go to the National Down Syndrome Society, which gives a voice to the Down syndrome community in Studio City and beyond on a national level.

Participants who wish to sign up for fundraising drive can find the details on registration and donations on the DSALA website.

Once registration is completed, participants will receive a customized ‘#DSALA’ T-shirt, but product availability is only guaranteed if registration occurs before September 26. Charitable organizations like this often distribute Promotional Products, such as T-Shirts or stickers, to fundraising participants in order to spread awareness and support.

Individuals who may not be able to join in with the virtual event can make a charitable donation instead. Participants can check for further information on the event on the website.

The virtual event DSALA Buddy Walk will take place on October 17 in California.
