Italian American Heritage month celebrated with festival

Studio City residents of Italian descent, and those who just enjoy Italian food, music, and culture, will most certainly be looking forward to The Los Angeles Italian Festival coming in early October.

The festival coincides with Italian American Heritage month and, as always, will be family friendly. Traditional Italian American culinary delights from pizza, ravioli, and spaghetti to gelato, panettone, cannoli, and tiramisu will be plentiful.

Music will be an eclectic blend of Frank Sinatra-style crooners and traditional Italian opera reminiscent of Bocelli and Pavarotti.

Along with the music, there will be plenty of dancing and possibly the return of the Tarantella Rock.
Children can express their creativity in the Da Vinci’s Kids Corner with T-shirt and face painting, and conventional painting.

Back again this year, actor Joe Mantegna will be the event’s Chairman of the Board. Hosts for the event will be the comic duo Eva & Joey.

Vendors’ Row will feature Italian-themed merchandise for purchase. If attendees feel it a little early to begin their holiday shopping, they may want to ask their favorite vendors for their Business Cards. That way, they can locate them later or order items custom-made.

The Los Angeles Italian Festival has a new location this year. It will now be held at Hollywood and Highland at 1651 N. Highland Avenue on October 3 and 4 from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm. Tickets will cost $5.
