Studio City’s Friends of Greystone will be presenting an evening of dining and opera next month.
The dinner will be provided by Lawry’s restaurant, while the opera will feature the dubbed ‘Tina Fey of Opera’, comedienne and singer Miki Yamashita.
Cocktails will begin the evening on the terrace. They will be followed by dinner, which will be roast turkey or prime rib carved and served from Lawry’s silver cart. Coffee and dessert will also be provided.
Following the dinner, guests will assemble in the Living Room of the mansion for a hilarious evening of selections from popular operas. Yamashita will be principal singer in the evening’s opera performance, and is with the Los Angeles Opera as a teaching artist. The lyric soprano will be part of a lineup including baritone David Castillo, tenor Ashley Faatoalia, and mezzo-soprano Nandami Maria Sinha.
All proceeds from the event will go to protecting, restoring, and preserving the Doheny Greystone Mansion and Park.
Those interested will want to mark their Calendars for June 25. The evening will begin at 5:00 pm at the Historic Doheny Greystone Mansion, 905 Lorna Vista Drive, Beverly Hills, and will end at 9:00 pm. Guests may take a tour of the mansion’s first floor. Seating will be limited, so organizers suggest purchasing tickets early. Parking will be free.
