Once again it’s almost time for Studio City film lovers to get in on the viewing of cutting edge, independent films. Early next month the City Film Festival will be presenting local and international films, each of which will vie for awards that can evolve into worldwide distribution.
The festival will show films of genres from all cultures and ethnicities as part of its mission to support arts that close cultural and ethnic gaps. This year the festival will show forty narrated shorts, four USA narrative features, fifteen student films, and eight comedy shorts. It will also run eight documentary features, three documentary shorts, two comedy features, nine music videos and one animated short film.
Awards will be in given for films in the categories: best feature narrative, best short film narrative, best comedy short or feature, and best actor and actress in a short or feature. Other awards will be handed out for best comic performance in either a short or a feature, best director for a short and feature, best music video and best animated short. The event should prove an excellent opportunity to meet actors, directors who will likely be future poster printing icons.
The Festival will run from June 4 to June 8, beginning at noon each day at Complete Actors Place Theater, 13752 Ventura Blvd. Studio City, Ca.
