The department for nano and chemical engineers at UC San Diego will have a new name of the Aiiso Yufeng Li Family Department of Chemical and Nano Engineering, in recognition of this gift.

News of such gifts and their benefits for a university and the community is often made known with flyer printing.

The gift from the Li family will support research initiatives and education that will strengthen the ties between the two disciplines of nano and chemical engineering within the department.

Nanomaterials for sustainable energy and nanomaterials for human health are the largest two research focus areas in the department.

Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla expressed his pride that UC San Diego is at the forefront of engineering innovation. He added that the renamed department demonstrates its commitment to driving progress and pushing boundaries.

Khosla added that he is grateful to the Li family for their support, which will enable the university to accelerate its research efforts and ensure that UC San Diego becomes a global leader in engineering research and education.
