Data Quarry Inc., headquartered in Sorrento Valley, recently announced a separation from DockOn AG. DockOn originally developed Data Quarry to help its engineers perform analysis and reporting.
The spin-off has been described as mutually beneficial for both companies. The two companies will have no common management, stock, or other services, as they will be fully independent. The news has been well received in the San Diego area.
Founder and Software Architect at Data Quarry, Amy Brown, was a member of DockOn when Data Quarry started developing applications for the wireless industry in 2011. She commented that she has always enjoyed streamlining and automating tasks using software and this spin-off will enable the company to expand to other markets and develop solutions that are relevant to the mission of the company. The company plans to continue in its support of the wireless testing industry.
CEO of DockOn, Adam Gould, added that this split is advantageous for both companies. It will enable his company to focus on the development of its technologies, while Data Quarry will be able to advance its software solutions.
