A public debut will soon be made by a pair of giant pandas at the San Diego Zoo. Residents of nearby Sorrento Valley may be interested in seeing it.
Xin Bao and Yun Chuan, three and four years old respectively, are the first pandas introduced to the United States in more than two decades. Xin Bao is a female and is best recognized by her big fluffy ears and round face. Yun Chuan is a male whose long and pointy nose is notable. Zhen Zhen, his mother, was born at the Zoo in 2007 and his grandmother lived at the Zoo for 23 years.
The president and CEO of San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, Paul Baribault, expressed his delight in welcoming the pandas to the Zoo community. He said that these pandas will bring happiness to visitors and encapsulate the spirit of the Zoo’s conservation efforts around the world.
Visitors can obtain a complementary timed ticket to view the pandas or join the standby line on the day of their visit. There will also be an Early Morning with Pandas Walking Tour that lasts for 60 minutes for which visitors can make reservations. Local Print shops can assist with providing guests with more details on news at a zoo.
The public will be able to view the pandas as of Thursday, August 8.
