Sorrento Valley has a heart for music

Resounding Joy, Inc. is preparing its 5th Annual Heart of a Child Benefit Concert.

The event is a musical showcase featuring the Sorrento Valley and San Diego area’s top young talent, and is all conducted in order to aid a local cause.

The concert features 20 young musicians and singers from around the area, all of whom are aged 18 and under. Among the list are award-winning acapella groups, teens that have performed in Carnegie Hall, and one of the best harpists under the age of 11 in the United States.

The event goes to benefit the Resounding Joy Ariana Miller Music Program - a local charity that offers free music therapy to children with heart disease at the Rady’s Children’s Hospital in San Diego.

In addition to the normal admission tickets, VIP tickets come with two complimentary beverages, as well as choice seating. The tickets can be bought in a block of 10 as well, which includes verbal recognition during the performance and the names of the purchasers in the program booklet. These tickets must be purchased at least a few days in advance to allow time for booklet printing.

The Heart of a Child Benefit Concert will take place on May 7 from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm at the Irwin M. Jacobs Qualcomm Hall, located at 5775 Morehouse Dr. Tickets are $25 for adults or $20 for seniors and members of the military. VIP tickets are $100 or $900 for a block of 10.
