A day of fun is on the way for the Sorrento Valley area, and the public are invited to bring the furry, feathery, and scaly members of the family to join in the celebration.
Poway Pets in the Park is set to return for its second year, and everyone is welcome. There will many different activities to participate in, and the Poway Senior center will benefit from the funds raised.
Those who come out to participate in the day will be able to enjoy a bite to eat while they play games, visit the petting zoo, ride the train, or have a pony ride. A costume contest will be on offer for the canine set, and three different categories will be judged. Prizes will be awarded for the best dog costume created by a child under 12, the most over the top costume 12 and up, and also funniest costume 12 and up. Nine prizes will be up for grabs, and bonus points will be awarded for homemade costumes.
The event is being offered free of charge, and a fee of a $10 fee will be charged to register in each of the categories. A Stationery printing company will be able to design and Print award certificates for the winners.
This day of pet and people friendly fun will be held on March 24 in Old Poway Park. Additional information can be obtained through the event’s Facebook listing.
