New residential development to open near Sorrento Valley

A new mixed-use development will be opening on the site of the former H&M Goodies Family Auction House and parking lot in National City.

To be known as Parco, the development will have 127 units of different housing styles and will be the first building in the city to have inclusive co-living suites. Residents of Sorrento Valley may be interested in this type of communal living.

In a co-living arrangement, residents have a furnished home with a bedroom and the common areas such as the kitchen and living room are shared. Other features include professional cleaning services and low rent. It has become popular with those between the ages of 18 and 34 who look to this arrangement as an alternative to living at home.

Parco was developed by Protea Properties and Malick Infill Development. Among the housing types will be studios, townhomes, and apartments with up to three or four bedrooms, some of which will be furnished and designed as suites for co-living. There will also be a rooftop lounge at which community events can be held and other amenities included such as high-speed internet and household supplies. More details and information about such amenities are often outlined in brochure printing.

Mayor Alejandra Sotelo-Solis said that as Parco is in the downtown area, it can help make the area a more pedestrian-friendly and vibrant location. Parco is expected to open this summer.
