A new type of housing development has been unveiled on Market Street in the Sorrento Valley area.
The development will have 34 apartment units, some with one bedroom and some with three. The units were pre-assembled so that each can be completed within five days. The entire structure will be five stories in height and will be in a neighborhood near the downtown area of San Diego, where substantial housing construction has not been built in many years. The project is less than a 10-minute walk to the trolley station at 32nd Street and Commercial, and there is a block of bus stops to provide access into downtown San Diego.
The CEO and founder of Impact Housing, Drew Orbenstein, said that these units will be completely finished on the inside. Adding that the units are built by Southern Californians for Southern Californians, he stressed that this project is only a small part of the work his company is undertaking in the San Diego area. Distinctive features of such units are often promoted to potential renters with brochure printing.
The rent for a unit with one bedroom will start at $1,700, while rental fees the units with three bedrooms will start at $2,500.
Those interested in these units can apply for them beginning in mid-May, and they will be available in June.
