A new food hall, Park Commons, will be coming to Sorrento Valley this summer, joining the ones currently in the works in Carlsbad and Little Italy.
The project will be 10,000 square feet in size and run by Ryan Johnston, executive chef and partner of Whisknladle Hospitality, along with Arturo Kassel.
Among the featured offerings in the food hall will be Middle Eastern food from All Spice, Mexican food from El Parque, soups and salads from Best Dressed, and burgers and fried chicken sandwiches from Ericken Burgers.
The food hall will have a full liquor license to please the crowds at happy hour. There will be seating for 200 between both indoor and outdoor spaces, as well as spaces for special events.
Whisknladle Hospitality will also be opening Gravity Heights, a restaurant and large-scale brewery near to the food hall. Of its 7,000 square feet, 5,000 will be used as an outdoor beer garden. Gravity Heights will feature both local brews and a full dining experience. Skip Virgilio, a well-known brewmaster, and Ryan Trim, a local judge of beers and homebrewer, will be managing the beer side of the restaurant. An opening date of the end of 2018 is expected.
