Two special programs will be coming to the Villa Musica in San Diego in the coming weeks, which might be of interest to residents of Sorrento Valley.
Such programs are often promoted throughout a region with flyer and poster printing.
The first will be a concert by the Villa Musica Summer Orchestra (VMSO) called “The Fellowship of the Ring.” The annual performance of the VMSO, the concert will feature “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” by Paul Dukas, “Selections from Swan Lake” by Pyotr Illyich Tchaikovsky, and “The Fellowship of the Ring Symphony” by Howard Shore. James Beauton is the conductor. This will be at the Joan Kroc Theatre on University Avenue this Sunday, August 27 at 2:30 pm.
The second concert will be Intersection Arts Opening Night. This will be a showcase of visual art by Rhonda Epstein, an artist from San Diego, with Jésus Cervantes performing live music. The Intersection Arts Series of the Villa Musica is designed to showcase a range of artists from the area. Epstein has a prolific portfolio of painting, photography, and structural art that ranges from cityscapes and nature to the abstract. This concert will be from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Saturday, September 16 at the Villa Musica Recital Hall on Roselle Street.
Both programs are free and open to the public.
