Mexican eatery to come to Sorrento Valley

An award-winning restaurant that serves Mexican food throughout Southern California, Puesto, will be opening a new location in Sorrento Valley on Barnes Canyon Road.

Such new establishments often rely on banner printing to inform residents of their opening in a new neighborhood.

This will be the restaurant’s fourth location in San Diego, adding to the ones in Mission Valley, La Jolla, and the downtown. This will be its 12th overall as there are additional locations in Concord, Santa Clara, Anaheim, and Irvine. It will be moving into a development that has yet to be named in what was once Courtney’s.

Puesto will be serving Mexican cuisine that will range from shareables and snacks to enchiladas, plates such as steak Arrachera and short rib Birria, and a wide range of tacos. The chain has become known for its offerings of beverages, which include various kinds of tequila, other agave distillates, wine, bourbon, whiskey, and other alcoholic drinks.

The owners of Puesto are first-generation Mexican Americans who have been involved in authentic Mexican cooking since they were children. They began making tacos and discovered that travel has increased their fascination with how culture, art, and people of a city are reflected in their cuisine. They often travel to Mexico City to look for innovative flavors, as well as family Menus inherited across generations.

No opening date has been set for the restaurant as yet.
