Funding awarded to non-profits in Sorrento Valley area

An amount of $875,000 in grants will be given to non-profit organizations in the San Diego area that provide behavioral and mental health services to children, youth and families by the San Diego Foundation (SDF) and the San Diego Women's Foundation.

Such organizations in the Sorrento Valley area may benefit from such funding while news of such funding is often made known in an area with Flyers, Posters, and other materials from local printing services.

Vice president and chief impact and partnerships officer at SDF, Pamela Gray Payton, said that children and families who thrive are important for a region to be resilient and healthy. She added that this partnership in grant funding with the San Diego Women's Foundation enables the Foundation to provide the trauma-informed and culturally responsive services that are needed so that children and families can be successful.

Among the organizations which received such funding are the Urban Restoration Counseling Center, San Diego Youth Services, Logan Heights Community Development Corporation, and Center for Community Solutions. The funds were made possible by the SDF Healthy Children and Families Initiative, which supports increased access to services which are crucial for youth, children, and families.

Three additional organizations will receive funds in the amount of $75,000 from the San Diego Women's Foundation to enable them to provide mental health services to those children between 12 and 14 years old for one or two years.
