The San Diego Museum of Art is now featuring a new exhibit titled “Monet to Matisse: Impressionist Masterpieces from the Bemberg Foundation.”
Over 60 pieces from many of the most well-known European artists are featured in the exhibit. Those from nearby Sorrento Valley will not want to miss this special exhibit.
This is the first the Impressionist collection from the foundation has left its base in France and travelled to California. The Bamberg Foundation is based in Toulouse. There are works from the 1870s to the 1930s in the collection. Many kinds of printing services are often used to promote such special exhibits throughout a city and neighboring communities.
The exhibit includes works from Matisse and Monet as well as Edgar Degas, Paul Cézanne, and Pablo Picasso. Michael Brown, Ph.D., curator of European Art at the San Diego Museum of Art, and Philippe Cros, the former director of the Bemberg Foundation, co-curated the exhibit.
Executive director of the museum, Roxana Velásquez, said that it was a real privilege to be collaborating with the Bamberg Foundation on this exhibit and to be one of the only places across the world that has the opportunity to showcase the amazing pieces. She added that these are pieces that have defined the Impressionist movement.
This special exhibit continues through Sunday August 7.
