California English will be on the Biovista life sciences campus. Blais is working with Longfellow Real Estate Partners on this endeavor. Longfellow has 200 employees working in bio-innovation across the United Kingdom and the United States. Blais said:
“Sorrento Valley is close to everything, next to nothing. So California English will be a destination.”
The eatery will span 6,00 square feet, which is smaller than other restaurants Blais has run. It is being designed by PGAL Architects and will have a style that is approachable and whimsical. There will be a playful wall mural by Matt Forderer from San Diego depicting bowler hats flying over an English castle in the main part of the restaurant, and another for the hallway.
