The annual San Diego County Fair will be coming to North County San Diego at the Del Mar Fairgrounds next month, and will last for four weeks. Residents of nearby Sorrento Valley will not want to miss this special event.
The opening ceremony will feature the Hilltop High School Emerald Effect Color Guard and Band. There will also be over 100 food stands with a wide range of cuisines and food options, and livestock shows at the Chevrolet Livestock Barns. A pig chasing an Oreo will be featured at the Swifty Swine Racing Pigs race, while acrobats will perform at the Flying Royals trapeze show.
There will also be over 60 rides and games to enjoy at the fair as well as concerts on the Corona Grandstand Stage. Over the course of the fair, performers will include Kevin Hart, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Boyz II Men, and Alabama. There will be a special fireworks display on July 4.
The fair began in 1880 as a way for farmers to compete, and share food and ideas. It moved to the Del Mar Fairgrounds in 1936. Local Print shops often assist with promoting such annual events throughout a region with Flyers, Posters, and other printed materials.
The fair will be open every day from Wednesday, June 7 to Tuesday, July 4 from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, except for Mondays and Tuesdays in June.
