Ironsmith Coffee Roasters has recently entered into a partnership with Wayfarer Bread to open a bakery inside a coffee shop. Ironsmith is located in La Jolla, sufficiently close to Sorrento Valley, that residents of that area will want to try some of the new offerings.
Crystal White, owner and prime baker of Wayfarer Bread, is a long-time baker, most recently baking at Tartine Bakery in San Francisco. She moved to the San Diego area when she saw a need for better bread options. After several successful pop-up shops, she found a permanent space for her products in La Jolla and asked Ironsmith to join her.
The joint venture now offers a variety of pastry and food options, including salads, sandwiches, and breakfast items, as well as a range of pastries that includes tartines, scones, and croissants. The Ironsmith expresso bar has remained with coffee flavors having been discovered by the owners’ trips to Guatemala, Ethiopia, and Colombia.
Ironsmith Coffee Roasters was started in 2014 and focuses on delivering a complete coffee experience that shows the love, knowledge, and skills of the owners in an effort to create an enjoyable cup of coffee.
